Creative Centre: Antonín Dvořák Birth House
The aim of the Antonín Dvořák Birth House project is to transform a Baroque country estate where the composer Antonín Dvořák was born, into a modern museum and regional cultural and creative center. The project will put Nelahozeves on the map by making it a social and cultural hub, providing facilities for community use and offering a diverse program of events and educational activities including as concerts, performances, lectures, exhibitions, guided tours, and more. The creative center at the Birth House will also provide special workshops for musicians, vulnerable groups, and community members that will be arranged both by the museum itself and our Czech partners. The project is also in line with the Nelahozeves Strategic Plan, where a key priority is the revitalization of the village center and square.
The implementation of the project will achieve the following objectives:
- Increase of civic and cultural amenities of the town and the region
- Creation of a cultural and creative center
- Expanding the range of cultural and leisure activities on offer in Nelahozeves
- Reconstruction of the existing listed historic site
- Increase in the number of visitors to the attraction
- Increase the attractiveness of the town for its inhabitants
- Increase the income of the municipality of Nelahozeves
- Create new jobs in the region
The project Creative Centre: Antonín Dvořák Birth House is implemented with the financial participation of the EU through the National Recovery Plan and the Ministry of Culture.
The project, "Renovation of the building of the former granary no. 4 within the area of the cultural monument Antonín Dvořák Memorial in Nelahozeves" is implemented with the financial contribution of the Central Bohemian Region.
The project “Creating a new interactive exhibition of the Antonín Dvořák Birth House Museum in Nelahozeves“ was supported by Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway through EEA Grants.
